Giving Back, Moving Forward: UniTeller Returns to Panghulo Elementary

In a world that often moves too fast, it’s the moments of connection that truly endure. At UniTeller, we believe that the most meaningful impact happens when we invest in the futures of those who inspire us.

This year, the UniTeller team returned to Panghulo Elementary School in the Philippines for the third year, continuing a tradition that has become a cornerstone of our Community Social Responsibility program.

This year’s visit was timed to support students as they prepare for the 2025 back-to-school season, a moment filled with both excitement and need. Understanding the challenges many families face, UniTeller donated JanSport backpacks to the entire Grade 6 class, ensuring that every student begins the school year equipped with a symbol of encouragement and the tools they need to thrive.

But our visit wasn’t just about giving. It was about celebrating, connecting, and sharing in the vibrant spirit of the school community.

The day unfolded as students, teachers, and volunteers participated in team-building activities. To make the day even more special, UniTeller also provided hearty meals; a simple gesture that brought people closer and turned lunch into a moment of shared gratitude and togetherness.

For us at UniTeller, these moments go beyond corporate responsibility. They reflect our core belief: that education is the foundation for a brighter tomorrow, and that investing in young minds is one of the most impactful ways we can give back.

We are continuously inspired by the resilience, hope, and generosity we encounter in this community. To the students who welcomed us with open hearts, the teachers who lead with passion, and the volunteers who give selflessly, we thank you.

Scaling Payments Globally: Insights from UniTeller’s CEO

In an interview by FXC Intelligence’s, Daniel Webber, our CEO, Alberto Guerra, shared strategic insights into the acquisition of More Payment Evolution, which was finalized in August 2024. This milestone not only marks our evolution as a cross-border payments provider, but significantly expands our infrastructure and capabilities across the globe.

In the interview, Mr. Guerra explains that UniTeller’s growth strategy has long been focused on global expansion, product diversification, and digital enablement. The integration of More PE directly supports all three pillars.

Before this acquisition, UniTeller was licensed primarily in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, Guatemala, and the Philippines. With the addition of More PE, we’ve grown our licensed footprint to 15 countries, including key markets in Europe, South America, and Africa, providing new corridors and enhanced reach. Our service network now supports origination and payout capabilities across more than 120 countries.

Mr. Guerra goes on to explain the role of the merger in accelerating UniTeller’s position in business payments. More PE brings capabilities in pay-in services and API-based B2B integrations, allowing UniTeller to serve small and medium-sized businesses as well as enterprise clients with more robust digital tools. With these combined strengths, UniTeller is now positioned to support cross-border business payments throughout the Americas, Europe, and beyond.

In addition, Mr. Guerra highlights the acquisition’s impact on the institutional side. It also accelerates our ability to scale digital consumer channels like our flagship app, uLink, and our White Label Turnkey Solutions.

He also emphasized on global trends like mobile wallet growth, digitalization, financial inclusion, and the evolution from P2P to B2B payments. With this acquisition, UniTeller is not just reacting to industrial changes, we’re enabling them. By embedding our infrastructure in new regions, forging new partnerships, and expanding our product mix, we’re laying the groundwork for a more inclusive and efficient global payments ecosystem.

Driving Innovation in Payments: A Conversation with UniTeller’s CEO

UniTeller CEO, Alberto Guerra, was interviewed by The FinTech Times/Power50 during Money20/20 in Amsterdam, where he shared his perspective on the current state and future of the cross-border payments industry. He highlighted the evolving demands of the global payments landscape and how UniTeller is leveraging technology, robust compliance, and international expansion to lead the way forward.

One of the central themes of the interview was the growing importance of real-time payments. Mr. Guerra emphasized that speed and transparency have become baseline expectations for individuals and businesses moving money across borders.

“You need to be able to deliver real-time payments in as many jurisdictions or countries as possible. Some countries do not have efficient real-time payment systems, so having local agreements with these financial institutions is key and essential.”

To meet these needs, UniTeller continues to push forward in its globalization efforts, expanding its licensing footprint and establishing local operations in key markets in the Americas, Asia, Africa, and soon to be in Europe.

He also emphasized the importance of being global in today’s market. He explained that without international reach, companies struggle to reach the scale necessary to remain competitive, limiting any potential to expand beyond niche markets.

The conversation addressed the role of emerging technologies in shaping the next era of payments. Mr. Guerra spoke to the potential of stablecoins, a form of cryptocurrency, in making transactions faster and more cost-effective, while maintaining security and trust.

Continuing on the topic of emerging trends, he touched on AI as an advanced tool with multiple avenues including data analytics, pricing trends, volume trends, and security, all to enhance the experience of consumers and business partners. Mr. Guerra highlighted the role of AI in terms of compliance regulations as well. He stressed the importance of balancing AI integration with regulatory responsibilities to ensure operations are both efficient and compliant.

In addition, he noted digitalization in consumer payments as another recent trend. With the rise of mobile wallets and digital payments, UniTeller is staying ahead of the curve by providing digital as a service for partnering companies. Through our Digital Link solutions, companies are enabled to utilize UniTeller’s infrastructure to offer digital solutions to customers.

Overall, the interview underlined UniTeller’s position as not only a cross-border payments provider, but as a global infrastructure partner committed to leveraging technology, local knowledge, and regulatory strength to lead the industry forward.
